I wasn’t paid for my performance at Alex Otti’s inaugural dinner – Davido

Top Nigerian singer and music executive, David Adeleke professionally known as Davido, has revealed that he performed for free at the reception dinner for Abia Governor, Alex Otti.

He made this known through his official Twitter page while responding to curious fans on Monday night.

A Twitter user wrote; “Many don’t know but Davido is Dr. Alex Otti’s godson and he’s in Umuahia at the inauguration after-party where he’s giving a full performance. It’s a full-blown show in Umuahia 🔥🔥🔥”

Another tweep tried to clarify if OBO truly didn’t get paid for event by asking: “Na free performance??”

In reaction, Davido said he did not receive a dime, and added that he has known Otti throughout his life.

The DMW boss also expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to deliver good governance to the people of Abia state.

“Not a dime I’ve known Excellency all my life … and I’m sure he will do well for the people of Abia state,” Davido wrote.

CorrectNG recalls that Otti was sworn in as the new governor of Abia state at the inauguration which held in Umuahia Township Stadium, on May 29.

He took his oath of office at midday and was sworn in by the Abia Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Lilian Abai.

Davido thrilled guests with some of his hit song at the Inauguration dinner which held in the night.

He performed Aye as the first song and moved on to Assurance, which was originally released for his wife, Chioma.

A fan @bonario89 who shared the video, wrote; “We also have Nigeria’s biggest artist @davido with us at the reception for @alexottiofr”
