Nigerian Grammy winner, Damini Ogulu also known as Burna Boy came out late during his recent concert in London and apparently it was because he insisted that the backdrop for the stadium must work properly.
This is according to the Head of Security at the London stadium, who revealed that Burna could have been made to pay £150,000 fine if the delay lasted for 30 minutes.
A Nigerian man identified as Nnamdi, who was taking a course on International Sports Law, shared a video of the chief security officer explaining what happened.
He said Burna Boy was standing on the stage getting ready to start his performance but one of his team members who was controlling the stadium lights with his laptop struggled to put it on.
The Head of Security said the person did not have a backup laptop, and it posed a huge challenge because there is a curfew at the London stadium, and if the show extended to that time, Burna would have to stop his show and get his promoter to pay 150,000 pounds for every 30 minutes time that they take up past the deadline.
Nnamdi praised the ‘Last Last’ crooner for insisting on perfection instead of perfoming with the below par setup on stage.
He tweeted; “Burna such a perfectionist. Having a lecture at the London stadium and the head of security explaining how Burna refused to go on stage on time because the stadium back drops were not working properly risking £150,000 fine for each extra 30.”
